The Rama Gana Kalacharya Awards - 2014

The Rama Gana Kalacharya Awards was instituted by one of the most prestigious musical organisation of India, Sree Ramaseva Mandali-Bangalore in the year 2013, to commemorate the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Mandali. The Mandali was established in the year 1939 by Sri S V Narayanaswamy Rao. Since then the Mandali has been organising a 36 days long Ramanavami National Music Festival every year in the month of April & May, which is witnessed by a crowd of about 1 lakh

The Award shall contain a Brass Memento; a citation; a shield; cash price & the Special Watch brought out by M/s Titan Industries for the Mandali

The Rama Gana Kalacharya Awards was instituted by one of the most prestigious musical organisation of India, Sree Ramaseva Mandali-Bangalore in the year 2013, to commemorate the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Mandali.

The Mandali aims at recognizing & felicitating great teachers of classical music who have dedicated their life for the purpose of promoting & preserving the rich cultural heritage of this country.

The first award was given to one of the great Gurus of Carnatic Music Shri P S Narayanaswamy, on the occasion of 75th Sree Ramanavami National Music Festival.
